Getting started

From sign-up to your first alert in about five minutes.

PingIQ monitors your network from the inside: a lightweight probe runs at your site, polls your devices, and reports to the PingIQ cloud over a single outbound HTTPS connection. Nothing on your network needs to accept inbound connections.

1. Create your account

Sign up from the pricing page (or accept your invitation email). Each organisation gets an isolated tenant — your devices, alerts and users are never shared.

2. Install a probe

Download the pre-configured probe package from Dashboard → Probes → Add probe and run the one-click installer on any always-on Windows or Linux machine at the site you want to monitor.

  • One probe per site/LAN is typical; you can run as many as you like
  • The package is pre-configured with your tenant key — no editing required
  • See Probe installation for OS specifics and requirements

3. Let discovery find your devices

The probe sweeps its local subnets every 15 minutes (ICMP + ARP + common ports + SNMP fingerprinting). Discovered hosts appear under Dashboard → Discovered — enrol the ones you want monitored with one click, or add devices manually by IP.

4. Add alert contacts

Under Alerts → Contacts, add who should be notified and on which channels (email, SMS, WhatsApp). Without at least one active contact, alerts appear only in the dashboard.

5. You're monitoring

  • Devices are pinged continuously; secondary TCP checks confirm real outages
  • A device that stops responding raises an alert through your chosen channels
  • AI baselines build over the first week — anomaly and predictive-failure alerts switch on automatically
Tip: monitor the probe machine itself with the zero-configuration Windows host (WMI) or Linux host (SSH) sensor — you'll see CPU, memory, disk and uptime for the box your monitoring depends on.
