Device monitoring
ICMP probing, secondary checks, health scores and discovery.
Every enrolled device is pinged on a configurable interval. Latency, jitter and packet loss stream to your dashboard live; sustained failures raise device-down alerts and recoveries resolve them automatically with the measured downtime.
Secondary checks
Ping alone can lie — a device can answer ICMP while its actual service is dead, or drop ICMP while working fine. PingIQ pairs ping with a TCP check matched to the device type (e.g. RTSP for cameras, web/management ports for switches and servers, Modbus for industrial devices) so alerts reflect the service, not just the wire.
Health scores
Each device carries a 0–100 health score combining reachability, latency trend, packet loss and interface state — the dashboard sorts the worst first, so triage starts at the top.
Discovery
- The probe sweeps its local subnets every 15 minutes: ICMP, ARP, common ports, SNMP fingerprinting
- New hosts land in Discovered with vendor, hostname and open-port hints — enrol with one click
- Unexpected newcomers can raise rogue-device alerts
Groups and alert windows
- Group devices by site, floor or function; route each group's alerts to its own contacts
- Per-device alert windows suppress alerts outside business hours where after-hours noise isn't wanted
